Leadership is important to all
organizations but we don't need the standard issue leader of the
past. Gone are the days when a leader can act as a commander issuing
decrees from atop the hierarchy. Corporations, governments,
churches, and even families need ethical leaders who invite trust,
build community, and help others realize their own goals and dreams.
While a lot of training programs exist to teach basic leadership
skills, few are dedicated to developing the type of leaders
to meet the
needs of our present day world. The Davis Leadership Center is
devoted to studying leadership and developing leaders with a sense
of calling or purpose which transcends the self-interest or self-preservation mentality upon which more traditional leadership
programs focus. |
